Ueno Sanni Tsuki no matsu (Moon Pine at Sannai, leaf title to the left of the series title cartouche in a square cartouche), from the “Meisho Edo hyakkei” series (Hundred Views of Edo, series title in a red longitudinal cartouche at upper right), nishiki-e, signed: Hiroshige ga, publisher Uoya Eikichi, censor seal aratame (snake 8, not visible here because the sheet has been trimmed on all sides), early print, the wood grain at the upper margin of the sheet is clearly visible, the green overprint is visible in the upper branch. Unlike the first impression, in the present item the blue bokashi at the lower margin and the pine needles are of a uniform blue-green. Backed with very thin paper, the upper and lower margins additionally backed, minimally stained, mounted along the upper margin, restored areas to the trunk at the bottom, 35.3 x 24 cm, framed,(CT)
