porcelain, of cylindrical form, the body with wide gold interior edge, the exterior with fine gilt edges, 2 pastose bright gold painted lyres in a gold aureole on white ground surrounded by bright gold ground, the saucer with matching painted décor and 5 lyres, octagonal reserve with grey painted cloudy sky, in the foreground Cupid with red sash, pointing towards the future with his right hand, leaning on his quiver before a large bright sun, angular gold handle with foliate and console end, height 6 cm, the rim of the handle very slightly chipped, diameter 13.5 cm, with gilt edging on the underside
Imperial Manufactory, underglaze blue Austrian shield, dated 1806, turner no. 9 Franz Mohr 1799–1829, black painter no. 96 on both pieces for Anton Kothgasser 1784–1816, the most influential gilt design painter on the manufactory (Ru)
