12 dessert plates diameter 21 cm, 1 round basket with 5 reserves, 1 square-shaped bowl diameter 18 cm, the lobed openwork lip with lattice pattern and gilt edges, the body with iron-red and gold-painted court dragons with symbols of good fortune from the “infinite knot” with pearl, coin, scroll and artemisia leaf of the Chinese Eight Treasures and phoenix birds
underglaze blue crossed swords mark after 1950 (Ru)

Porzellan Sammlung Dresden im Zwinger, 1998 exhibition collection, p. 166: In keeping with Augustus the Strong’s great enthusiasm for Chinese and, even more, Japanese porcelain, the Meissen dinner service with the “Red Dragon” displays a thorough East Asian influence. Until 1918, the red court dragon décor was reserved exclusively for porcelain used at the Saxon royal court.
