COLUMBINE - VIKTOR & ROLF, Nymphenburg,

COLUMBINE - VIKTOR & ROLF, Nymphenburg, - Furniture; Works of Art; Glas and Porcelain

the Amsterdam fashion designers reinterpret Columbine’s role with their design: they transform Isabella’s cheeky maid who does not want to be faithful to any man into a tragedy figure, with a black-on-black rhomb pattern and a mask painted with a tear, height 19.5 cm
impressed lozenge shield 2008, model no. 76 (Ru)

VICTOR & ROLF: the Dutchmen Victor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, both born in 1969, studied at the Fashion Academy in Arnhem. After graduating in 1992, they decided to work together and won 3 prizes at the Hyéres Festival with sculptural, experimental clothing. Their career received a decisive boost when they were introduced to Paris haute couture in 1998, where Viktor & Rolf amazed an ever-growing audience with highly innovative creations based on extreme volumes and exaggerated shapes. With the 2000 autumn/winter collection they showed a convincing and completely new fashion. In 2006, they cooperated with the H&M Group. In 2008, Renzo Rosso took over the majority of shares in the Victor & Rolf company. Victor & Rolf are exceptional talents in uniting art and fashion, often crossing borders.
