FRANCK SORBIER, born in 1961. After his studies at the renowned design school "Ecole supérieure des artes et technique de la mode" in Paris, he worked for traditional companies such as Chantal Thomas and Thierry Mugler. In 1987, he presented his first own experimental collection, in 1991 his first commercial one. In 1996, Cartier supported all his collections. Among his other patrons have been Paul Gaultier and Sonia Rykiel. In 2005, he was awarded the title of "Grand Couturier", an honour bestowed upon only eleven fashion houses in Paris.
