IGOR CHAPURIN was born in Russia in 1968. He attended the Technological Institute in Vitebsk and specialised in women’s clothing design. He won the Nina Ricci Young Designer Contest in Paris, followed by offers to design evening gowns for Miss Europe, Miss World and Miss Universe finalists. His first collection, “To Russia with Love”, brought him recognition in 1995. From 1996 to 1998 he worked as a designer for several major fashion houses and received numerous awards. Chapurin is also a stage designer, designing costumes for productions by the famous Russian director Oleg Menshikov. After opening his own boutique in Moscow, as a talented theatre designer he has created costumes for the theatre, Bolshoi ballet and operetta productions.
