Case: gold 750, savonette number 30804, partly enameled monogram, engraved lion head, slider to release, change and interrupt the striking mechanism, diameter c. 54 mm
Movement: manual winding, pointed tooth lever escapement, numbered 30804, compensation balance, 2 barrels, 6 screwed chatons, blued screws, 2 hammers on gongs, 42 stones
Dial: enamel, Roman numerals, small second
Accessories: presentation box

John Edward Dent was born in 1790 and is considered one of the leading watchmakers of his time. He also worked for the English royal family. For this reason, his movements mostly bear the signature “Watchmaker to the Queen”. He is also credited with the construction of the famous tower clock “Big Ben” in the Houses of Parliament in Westminster.
