Movement: manual winding, lever movement, numbered 20551210, calibre 321, 17 stones, partly red gilt, shock-proof, compensation balance, Breguet overcoil spring
Dial: black, 30-minute index, 12-hour index, small second, partly detached luminous elements
Accessories: Omega stainless steel three-link bracelet, folding clasp, number 1039, strap lugs number 516/2-69

After extensive testing of various watch models, NASA selected the Omega Speedmaster Professional as the only suitable watch for manned space flights. The tough tests included use in zero gravity, strong magnetic fields, permanent shock and vibration as well as extreme temperature fluctuations.

23.03.1965: Gemini 3 mission, first time in space. 03.06.1965: first spacewalk with Omega. 21.07.1969: Apollo XI, the Speedmaster Professional is the first watch on the moon. This model is stil used by NASA as a mission watch to this day.
