The present pocket watch is a wonderful example of the manufacturer’s early models with automatic winding. A. Lange & Söhne produced only 38 pieces between 1891 and 1920. This watch was sold by the company Br. Müller in Catania and has been in the family of the Marchese del Toscano ever since. The first automatic watches have been known since 1800. Many of them were made by Breguet. A. Lange decided to use the movement patented for Dürrstein & Co and to register it under design protection 8972.
