145 cm high. Probably made as a house post for the bachelorettes communal space, little is known from this small group of islands north of Papua New Guinea. The islands remained unsettled by western Europeans until they were annexed as part of the German protectorate of German New Guinea in 1884, named after the Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. (VJ)
