France Transition period circa 1770/80, stamped "J. SCHMITZ" (Joseph Schmitz, maître from 1761). Made in oak with rosewood and amaranth veneer, richly decorated with floral marquetry in various partly dyed fine woods, with a polished finish, 2 sans traverse drawers, gilt bronze mounts and a moulded marble top (Gris Sainte Anne). 88 x 114 x 51 cm.
