Gift of Archduchesses Gisela and Marie Valerie, and Archduchess Elisabeth (Erszi) to the Prince-Primate of Hungary and Archbishop of Esztergom Cardinal Janos Csernoch (1852 - 1927). The enclosed confirmation in Hungarian reads (English translation): "Schönau an der Triesting, 1917 Nov. 24 / Your Eminence! Your Eminence has expressed the wish to have one of his personal items in memory of my grandfather, His Majesty Franz Joseph I. Today, I can finally fulfill your wish. On behalf of the Archduchesses Gisela and Marie Valerie, I am enclosing the Emperor's personal rosary. My late grandfather always used this rosary and kept it by his prayer chair. We present this rosary to Your Eminence with the request to cherish it as our late grandfather did. Please include my royal grandfather and myself in your daily prayers.
