2002, for Sawaya & Moroni, Milan, moulded H. D. P. polyurethane, high gloss coating, metallised, stainless steel base, height 75 cm, width 44 cm, depth 58 cm, height of seat 45 cm. (DRAX)
Prototype in this design.
Something of a functional petal, colorful and rigid yet flexible, the sculptural shell that defines the “Maxima” chair and its stainless-steel rod support together generate a line that is almost graphic in its simplicity, neither superimposing on, nor disturbing, the plastic solution it underpins, but creating a synthesis of harmony between two distinct components. A surface that folds upon itself to shape a form lightheartedly reminiscent of plant life.
