A rare brine scale or salt scale - The Dr. Eiselmayr scales & weights collection

1763, brass, conical form, engraved "Ex Comissione Anno 1763" and "Haalstatt et Ischler Waagrechte / Berg Sulzen haltet 16 und zu / Ausee 18 Grad" with degree scale of 8-32 (16 and 18 degrees each marked with arrows); slightly dented (because hollow); on a shaped base of a later date. Length of the salt scale c. 20 cm. The salt scale was used to measure the density or salt concentration of brine.
