movable eyes operated through the balance wheel, the mouth moves with the hour striking mechanism, alarm function, octagonal brass spring-driven movement, movement via chain and fusee, hour striking mechanism with repeater on bell, the fire-gilt finely chased crowned bronze lion leaning on a single-handed clock in front of it and holding a sceptre, horizontally arranged engraved and silvered dial with alarm time scale, steel hands, beside it small regulating scale, octagonal ebonized hardwood base with eight glazed facets on bronze feet, Augsburg stamp and “? BEN”, 35 cm, Germany c. 1520, signs of age and use, alterations, no warranty for precision of movement and long-term functioning, 1 key, (HP)
