round with flat base movement, power reserve: 1–2 weeks, verge escapement, half-hour count wheel striking mechanism on bell, bombé signed enamel dial, gilt engraved hands, the front and reverse side with glazed bezels, high-quality, heavy, figural fire-gilt bronze clock case on marble base, “Neptune Protecting the Navy and Eastern Trade”, inscription, baluster in the base backed with blue glass, 47 x 42 cm, France, c. 1760, signs of age and use, a few parts replaced, no warranty for precision of movement and long-term functioning, 1 pendulum, (HP)
