after Peter Paul Rubens 1620–1624, “D’aprés l’Original de Rubens, dans la Gallerie de Mr. Le Comte de Lamberg”, inscribed on the reverse, Imperial Manufactory Vienna 1808, porcelain, the body with bright gold lip, matte gold palmettes framed by coat of arms and oval rosettes in tall rectangles, fine white edges, inside rim with bright gold blossoms and sprigs of leaves on matte gold band, the well with polychrome painted depiction, signed Daffinger at the centre of the margin, diameter 24.5 cm, picture minimally scuffed, underglaze blue Austrian shield, turner no. 32 Silvester Gurber 1804–1820, Sorgenthal era (Ru)

Wiener Porzellan 1718–1864, Wilhelm Mrazek, Waltraud Neuwirth, Vienna 1970, MAK, p. 34: Moritz Michael Daffinger (Vienna 1790-1849 Vienna), son of Johann Daffinger, from 1801 apprentice in the figure department of the Porcelain Manufactory under Michael Weixelbaum, from 17.11.1801 at the Academy under Prof. Maurer, 1804-1805 in the class of figure painters, second and then first Gundel Prize, from November 1808 to February 1812 works are recorded in the ‘Einschreibebüchlein’. Daffinger painted this plate when he was 18 years old. The oil painting by Peter Paul Rubens "The Three Graces" is preserved in the Academy of Fine Arts, Picture Gallery in Vienna.
