silver, marble, sculpted huntsmen and two hounds, a stag on a marble base with silver mount, two silver plaques with inscriptions, saucer, silver mount encompassed by oak-leaves, sculpted chamois heads, two medallions with motto, wood back, metal liners, 48 x 28 cm, height: 34 cm, the rim of the marble base slightly chipped, maker's mark W & C = Würbel & Czokally, Vienna greyhound hallmark 1872-1922, (Lu)
Of excellent workmanship; the inscription reads: "Den Schwächling flieht Hubertus Gunst für Starke nur ist Waidmanns Kunst" (The huntsman's art is not for the weak, Hubertus favours the strong) and "Der Wald ist lieblich von Natur doch schön macht ihn der Waidgang nur", (The gentle natural charm of the woods is turned into true beauty by the hunt.) "Jedwedem Wackern werd zu Teil Hubertus Gunst und Waidmanns Heil" (May Hubertus bless the brave huntsmen)
