Handmade unique pieces

“Nonpareils are a decorative confectionery of tiny balls made with sugar and starch and available in many mixed colours used for decorating cakes and desserts. They were originally eaten on bread and butter known as fairy bread. There is a certain nostalgia and childhood memories associated with this design. Beadwork, a craft originally practiced by indigenous people, grew and flourished through contact with people outside of Africa. Beads generally symbolize positive things including protection, union, growth and good luck. Here beads have been hand-strung in a spiral pattern on a metal frame. These lamps come alive with magic when switched on.” (Nawaaz Saldulker, 2022)
