“When I first saw Philippa von Bastha’s ‘Baronia’ desk, my impulse was to caress it. At second glance, I felt drawn beyond sympathy towards it, as if to a being that was solid and elegant at once, and that moved with the noble grace of something special. Thus, through the fluid movement of its tactile surfaces polished by hand, ‘Baronia’ becomes a companion that enters our lives. The geometry of nature, in which no two points are alike, is cast in aluminium in a soft and warm, smooth and velvety character. That is why I fell in love with this object after taking the time to admire it.”
