A transformable Oriental pearl and diamond necklace
Gold 750, silver c. 800, natural pearls diameter c. 4.1-8.4 mm, old-cut brilliants, diamonds total weight ca.10 ct, socket fastening, brooch element, 47.2 g, DSEF gemstone report no. 26522 from 2016 and two chain segments enclosed. The present lot is an extraordinary example of the goldsmithery of the late 19th century. Given its refined technique, this necklace can be converted into a brooch with a few adjustments. Originally, this piece of jewellery was also wearable as a tiara. For this purpose, the individual elements were attached onto a carcasse, which has unfortunately been lost.
