In 1969, Heuer presented the reference 1133 the first Monaco self-winding chronograph. The combination of stop watch and self-winding movement was an innovation at the time. The reference 1533, was issued with a grey or as in this case blue dial. The unusual casing was designed by Piquerez. The actor Steve McQueen wore a Monaco in the film "Le Mans" lending the watch cult status.
