porcelain, the well with a console displaying the polychromed and gold-painted alliance coat of arms of Sukowski and Stain zu Jettingen supported by two lions, surrounded by Indian flowers, the lip with Sulkowski osier pattern, diameter 23.5 cm, underglaze blue crossed swords mark, scuffed, (Hr) The service produced for the Saxon minister Aleksander Jósef Reichsgraf von Sulkowski and his wife Maria Anna Franziska von Stain zu Jettingen by Meissen from 1735 onwards, was one of the first large orders that were not manufactured directly for Augustus III. Production came to an abrupt end in 1738 when the Reichsgraf fell from grace and was banished from court.
