c. 1950, for Erwin Behr, Germany, four-legged construction, three items with backrest made of rattan weave, two items without backrest, one of them revolving, supports made of black lacquered metal, round upholstered seats with beige synthetic leather covering. Dimensions of each bar stool: Height of seat c. 80 cm, total height with back rest c. 113 cm, depth c. 35 cm / 46 cm, diameter c. 35 cm. Slight signs of age and use, partly scratches and abrasions, isolated slight (lacquer) losses. (MHA) Herta-Maria Witzemann was born in Dornbirn/Vorarlberg in 1909. From 1938 to 1940 she attended the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna, where she was a student of Prof. Oswald Haerdtl. From 1952 onwards she was professor of interior design and cabinetmaking at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. She executed various designs for serial furniture for numerous renowned companies, such as Knoll International, Thonet, Wilde + Spieth, Thonet and Erwin Behr.
