Taking his first footstep on the Moon, Bean turned to his left and faced Conrad for a formal portrait, keeping his right hand on the ladder. This staged photograph is the only one of a human taking his first step on another world.
From the mission transcript when the photograph was taken:
115:51:59 Conrad: ...turn around and give me a big smile. That a boy.
115:52:01 Bean: Okay.
115:52:02 Conrad: You look great. Welcome aboard.
