in transitional style, by the Paris company Maison Krieger, late 19th century, oak structure, with mahogany and satinwood veneer, panel marquetry, with polished finish in traditional artisanal technique, the facing side with three drawers with protruding central section, delicately chased gilt bronze fittings, stamped, MON KRIEGER AMEUBLEMENT PARIS, moulded marble top, 79 x 91 x 46 cm, in beautiful professionally restored condition. Maison Krieger (1826 - 1910) Founded in 1826 by brothers Antoine and Nicolas Krieger (1804 - 1869), Maison Krieger in Paris was one of the most important luxury furniture manufacturers of the 19th century. They exhibited their furniture at the World's Fairs in London in 1851 and in Paris in 1855, winning numerous prizes and medals. Maison Krieger was also the training ground of the famous Francois Linke, who learned the art of furniture making there as a journeyman and, after founding his own studio, also offered his products under the name Maison Krieger.
