Lot No. 36

Karachoph, Southwest Caucasus, c. 235 x 108 cm,

19th century. The second characteristic, but less known variant of a Karachoph with red polygons on a light blue ground. The austerity of the light-coloured border emphasizes the archaic clarity of this early piece. With partly trimmed pile and re-worked edges, without old repairs, in good condition. (VP)
