First half of the 20th century. An expressive hand knotted carpet of a sub-tribe of the Qashqai nomads of southern Persia made of pure sheep wool. The colourful rhombs floating on a navy ground contain numerous apotropaic symbols, plant and animal motifs. The colour and wool quality is excellent. With small traces of use, in good condition.
