Case: gold 750, savonette, numbered 14720, guilloché, diameter c. 53 mm
Movement: manual winding, lever movement, numbered 14720, compensation balance, Breguet overcoil spring, 5 screwed chatons, diamond cap, blued screws
Dial: enamel, Roman numerals, small second

This pocket watch by Lange & Söhne with its solid gold case was intended for export to America. The movement was sold to the New York company “Charles William Schuman”. For tax reasons, it was customary at that time to manufacture the case in the USA. A legal signature of origin was required on the movement for import into the USA. The city of Dresden was chosen because it was better known.
