19th century. A light-ground prayer rug of the finest wool and colour quality. Colourful flowering shrubs adorn a serrated diamond lattice on white ground. The design of the border is typical of the entire Shirvan region. The archaic hand rests, surrounded by human figures and animal motifs, are especially noteworthy. A high-quality example of the fine Caucasian group in good condition.
