silver, with delicate hammered decoration; feet slightly flared and fluted; parts of the handles and the cover finials were faithfully reproduced with synthetic materials, since they were originally made of ivory; the service consists of: coffee pot with hinged cover (height 20.1 cm) sugar bowl with cover (height 16.7 cm), milk jug (original name: “Milchkanne”, height 13.0 cm), sugar tongs (length 13.3 cm, width 3.5 cm) and a tray (original name: “Tasse”, height 3.5 cm, diameter 36.5 cm); marked on the underside Wiener/Werk/Stätte, JH, Made in Austria, WW, Diana’s head silver purity hallmark and hoopoe or silver mark and 900. (MP) Literature: MAK, Vienna, Wiener Werkstätte Archive, inventory number WWF 96-237-3 (photograph) and inventory no. KI 12057-12-1 (drawing).
