CHARITY FOR THE OPERA BALL

Dorotheum will auction, until 18 February, a Versace design for the Swarovski tiara of this year’s Vienna Opera Ball

Absentee bids for the very special objects to be offered at auction can be submitted via the Dorotheum website until 18 February 2019. The items can be viewed at Palais Dorotheum from 11 February onwards. Proceeds from the auction will go to two Caritas projects (gruft.at, superar.eu).

The original design by Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace for the Swarovski tiara to be worn by this year’s debutantes at the 2019 Vienna Opera Ball will be for sale through the charity auction. Donatella Versace drew inspiration for the headpiece set with 380 Swarovski crystals from Richard Wagner’s opera “The Rhinegold”, the first part of the monumental cycle of four music dramas “The Ring of the Nibelung” (starting price € 1.000).
