Lucio Fontana | Contemporary Art | June 2016

Lucio Fontana vowed to renew art and transcend its traditional boundaries in his Manifesto Bianco (1946): “A change in content and form is necessary. It is necessary to overcome the limits of painting, sculpture, literature and music. We need a more comprehensive art, which corresponds to the requirements of the new spirit.“ His “Concetto Spaziale, Attesa (1967/1968)" featured in Dorotheum's contemporary art auction on June 1, 2016 was sold for €735,000.

“Concetto Spaziale, Attesa”, 1967/1968 by Lucio Fontana, realised the highest price in the Contemporary Art auction on June 1, with an outstanding €735,000.
