The figures in the present work were painted by Abraham Willemsen (born 1605/10–1672 Antwerp).
While in the past the present painting used to be attributed to Jan van Kessel I, Ertz now assigns it to the oeuvre of Jan van Kessel the Younger. It is not possible to fit it into a chronological order, as only a few of the artist’s works are dated.
