Two bangles in silver of the highest quality, hollow, with a dotted middle ridge, repoussé, engraved and featuring dotted bands and curved silver wire that have been soldered on. The hemispheric smooth finials each featuring an engraved silver lozenge on the outside are characteristic of this style of bangle.
This style of bangle was produced in South Arabia, probably in Oman, and traded along the old trade route followed by the dhow boats from Sudan (Rashaida) across to Ethiopia, Kenya or India, depending on the direction of the monsoon winds. Two especially beautiful examples of this style of bangle with good, old traces of wear, and no damage.
