Tunisia, Afghanistan: 3 necklaces made of high-quality silver, 2 from Tunisia (with fish), one from Afghanistan (with a carnelian pendant).
1: Two necklaces from Tunisia, each featuring a pendant of a fish made of silver and decorated with black niello. With Ottoman silver coins as supplementary pendants hanging from the fish and two silver coins on one of the two silver chains. Length: c. 9 cm (the silver fish); 37 cm and 46 cm (total length of each chain).
2: A necklace from Afghanistan, probably from the Turkmens. With a polished carnelian stone set as the central lower pendant. The chain consists of silver beads with some supplementary pendants such as a shoe, a fish, two pairs of scissors etc. It is all made of silver. Length: c. 27 cm.
All three objects in this mixed lot: First third of the 20th century. (ME)
