Mixed lot (4 pieces), Tunisia: two pairs (4 pieces) of silver bangles. Both pairs have a middle ridge that bulges outwards, one pair simply engraved, the other repoussé and engraved.


Mixed lot (4 pieces), Tunisia: two pairs (4 pieces) of silver bangles. Both pairs have a middle ridge that bulges outwards, one pair simply engraved, the other repoussé and engraved. - Tribal Art

1: The larger, heavier and older pair of Tunisian bangles displays heavily embossed decoration with a central flower divided into two halves by the central bulge. There are two fish to the left and right of this flower (above and below) in engraved semicircles.
Height: 8 cm and 7.5 cm; diameter: 7 cm x 6.5 cm (6.2 cm).

2: The second pair of Tunisian bangles have engraved bands in herringbone patterns, along with decorative flowers made of punched circles.
Height: c. 6 cm; diameter: 7 cm x 6.5 cm. All 4 pieces of both pairs of bangles are made of the best quality silver. Each of the 4 bangles has 5 hallmarks on the inside. No damage.
Between c. 1900 and the first third of the 20th century. (ME)
