The five main parts of this Yemeni ‘bridal necklace’ – three middle, angular pieces and two end pieces – are crafted in box shape. The front side is decorated with soldered silver spheres, rhombuses and rosettes. Eight strings run through these, threaded with silver beads, mixed with other filigree granulated silver beads. Three cylindrical pendants hang onto the three middle, rectangular pieces. The pendants are decorated with soldered silver rosettes and rhombuses, whilst wide rows of silver pendants with beads hang from more silver chains. A very elaborately designed, traditional piece of jewellery from Yemen. Only one of the silver chains in the middle pendant ensemble below is broken. Otherwise no damage. Entirely preserved and in good condition.
