modified Baroque style c. 1914/16, execution attributed to Portois & Fix in Vienna, consisting of 1 large double bed with canopy-like superstructure and 2 bedside tables; softwood constructions elaborately veneered with yew and elm root in the form of cubes and fillets, moulded and rounded execution, at the foot marquetry images of Schönbrunn Palace and the Berlin Palace, detachable bed head with depiction of the Votive Church in Vienna, 2 similarly executed bedside tables with multi-coloured marble tops, 2 bed inserts, mattress size c. 200 x 190 cm, canopy (c. 83 x 190 x 40 cm) with Austrian and German coats of arms and reference to the Dual Alliance, dated 1879 – 1914 (“Am Prüfstein war es kund, dass es nur Einen Treu- und Zweibund gab. Der die Edelsten der Herrscher vereinte Zum Heile ihrer Völker.”), 2 bedside tables c. 120 x 47.5 x 46 cm each, signs of age and use.
