a design used by Adolf Loos, Vienna ca. 1900, manufactured by F. O. Schmidt, ca. 1905/10, solid oak backrest, velour-upholstered cushion, lathed legs, saddle seat, height ca. 86 cm, width ca. 60 cm, depth ca. 65 cm, seat height ca. 46 cm. (MHA)
This model, which was adapted by F. O. Schmidt from one designed by the English company Collison & lock feett, was used by Adolf Loos in the study of the Haberfeldt apartment (Vienna, 1899) and the Friedmann apartment (1906), as well as for the office at the Manz’schen University and Publishers (Vienna 1912).
