porcelain, of rectangular form, the cobalt blue body with elaborate gilt decoration, lid with reserves, containing polychromed scene of French salon society, a cavalier reading from a book, the seated ladies and another cavalier listening, the bottom right signed “de Geyer”, outlined with gilt beading, flanked by fantastic birds, trellis with gilt flowering branches and leaf rocailles, surmounted by a cartouche with musical instruments, decorated with symbol of love and a blazing heart, moulded metal mounts with fastening, the sides decorated with diverse chateau landscapes and ponds, the interior with polychrome painted scatter of flowers, height: 15 cm, length: 40 cm, width: 27 cm, Carl Thieme, Dresden, blue mark with crown and C.
