Christian Jorhan the Elder (Bad Griesbach 1727-1804) was an important Rococo sculptor, executing numerous works for churchs in the Landshut/Erding region of Bavaria. Amongst his works was the Immaculata of Tondorf, which is to the south of Landshut. In 1764-65, he produced figures for the side altar and organ at the pilgrimage church of Maria Thalheim near Erding, and life-sized figures of Christ the Saviour, the Virgin Mary and the Twelve Apostles for Landshut.
