Ringstraße Historicist style table,
Attributed to Franz Schönthaler (1821 - 1904) in Vienna circa 1870/90. A hardwood table, carved with sphinxes, partly turned, set on a scrolled and splayed tripod base, painted gold, with a baluster-like fluted and gadrooned shaft, the top bordered with carved ornament, the marble top with floral intarsia. Height 83.5 cm, diameter 92 cm. Some ageing and wear. (DOC)
