1974 Jaguar E-Type V12 OTS
One Austrian owner since 1991
Matching numbers and manual gearbox
Jaguar introduced the third series in 1971, ten years after the original E-Type. The new, phenomenal twelve cylinder was unusually quiet and offered power in abundance. In combination with the long wheelbase, the E-Type had the new dimensions of a fast travel-sports car. Only 6,119 of these quiet rockets were created up until February of 1975.
A resident of Voralberg acquired this E-Type roadster for his uncle, an embroidery manufacturer, in the USA. When the car was brought to Austria, it was in the visually beautiful condition that it is today. The E-Type was unbelievably well maintained, only receiving a new paint job. At that time the speedometer had 16,500 miles on the clock, according to the nephew. After the death of the uncle, a pharmaceutical entrepreneur acquired the Jaguar in 2008 with 19,700 miles of mileage. He had the Jaguar specialist Alfred Stoitzner overhaul the car mechanically for €12,000. The E-Type also got a new speedometer at that time. He registered the car and barely drove it, if at all; the car passed the years in a garage, until it was awakened from it slumber. This wake-up call cost € 7,500, and now the freshly serviced, well-maintained roadster is waiting for a new home – where it can see more than the inside of a garage, hopefully!
