The present painting, which is based on drawings by Nicolas Poussin in Chatsworth and Besancon, is closely related to works by Gaspard Dughet, called Poussin. Pierre Rosenberg, Paris, who examined the painting in the original (2006), identified it as a work by Johannes Glauber.
