A “Berga” settee, the design attributed to Axel Einar Hjorth,
manufactured by Nordiska Kompaniet, Denmark, late 1930s, natural pine, height 83 cm, length 170.5 cm, depth 65 cm, height of seat 38.5 cm. (DRAX)
The “Berga” models first appeared in the NK factory catalogue in 1938, the year when Axel Einar Hjorth quit is job as the company’s senior designer. Stylistically, the settee is close to Hjorth’s gym furniture from 1929–1932.
