The Buddha figures in the same, typical, ‘elongated’ style of Northern Laos. Wearing monk-robes, with buns (‘ushnisha') and the high 'flame of enlightenment' on their heads. Making the characteristic 'earth-touching gesture' (Bhumisparsa Mudra) and seated on high, rounded plinths. Each cast in a single piece using the ‘waste mould’ technique. Both evincing greenish patina. No damage. Height: 13 cm and 18 cm. 19th century to early 20th century. (ME)
