Neo-Classical revival roll top desk,
Made at the end of the 19th century in the Louis XVI style, modelled after the work of the French master cabinet maker CARLIN. A hardwood desk veneered in various fine woods such as mahogany, satinwood and tulipwood, partly decorated with fillets, set on tapering fluted legs, with bronze mounts, a Wedgwood plaque on the top, a pull-out writing ledge, four drawers, interior drawers, and a marble top with brass edging. 111 x 91 x 51 cm. In cared-for condition, with a fine patina. (MIN)
