Biedermeier bureau,
Probably South Germany, circa 1820/30. Made in spruce with cherry veneer and partly ebonised, tapering slightly upwards, also with marquetry decoration of gryphons in the upper section, with two doors at the front, a fall-front writing surface and drawer with fall-front writing surface, the fitted interior in walnut also marquetry decorated in partly burnt maple, with twelve drawers, two secret compartments, and a central niche with later mirror. 167.5 x 105.5 x 51.5 cm. In restored condition, the writing surface slightly warped, and with small parts replaced. (MIN)
