Rare pair of French lacquer chests of drawers,
Stamped "B. VASSOU u. JME" (Jean Baptiste Vassou 1739-1807, maître from 1767), Paris circa 1780. Demi-lune forms with floral lacquer decoration on a black ground and bronze doré mounts, each with two drawers, two side sections and marble top. 88 x 127 x 50.5 cm. Some ageing, the paint partly flaked. One top broken on the back left corner. (PZ)
